Copenhagen 13.07.2023 #SpringsteenTour2023

On this tour, when you are going to two shows in the same location you are given a concert free day in-between shows. To have something to do, and because it was a bit rainy, we decided to go to the cinema and catch the premiere of the film “Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning (part 1)”. It was a good film that I can really recommend.

On the day of the concert we first did some sightseeing. I climbed the 400 steps of the tower of Our Saviour’s Church to see (and take photos of) the spectacular view of Copenhagen. We also visited Freetown Christiania, which is a very interesting place- a hippy enclave and alternative community in Copenhagen (follow the link to read more). There we bought some nice t-shirts.

I have lots and also very little to say about the concert. We all know that every concert is someone’s first and that every concert is also someone’s best. This concert was probably my worst concert so far (in competition with Oslo 1). We were standing in the crowded pit among drunk people, who were talking constantly, when they didn’t run back and forth to buy more beer. One woman started yelling at me because she felt like I was pushing her, when in fact I was only trying to protect myself from getting trampled on. It was a very unpleasant experience. By Nightshift Oliver had had enough and left.

The performance from Bruce and the band was good and the setlist didn’t contain any surprises. It was a pretty much normal second-show-setlist. The E Street Shuffle as well as Johnny 99 were back. Born In the USA was omitted again, and so was Thunder Road. After the band introductions and the “You’ve just seen…the heart-stopping, pants-dropping, hard-rocking, booty-shaking, lovemaking, earthquaking, Viagra-taking, justifying, death-defying, history-making, legendary E STREET BAND!” we left and ended our evening drinking a Guinness in an Irish pub not far from our hotel.

Before the next show in Hamburg (July 15), we will regroup (and do some laundry) in Cologne. Early Saturday morning we’ll be on the train for our next concert experience, which I hope will be a much better one. Over and out. /Anna
